Rather reserved intellectual type, though can be hands-on when required. Now retired and living just across the Channel near Boulogne sur Mer, but used to work as University lecturer in psychology in London. Hoping to find reward in other pursuits-- cycling, music, modern art, ancestry, cooking (especially Chinese, Indian, and Italian). I'm a long-time fan of jazz and blues and it would be nice to find a companion with whom to share live music experiences. I like to spend time in the country or at the coast or in winter in the mountains. My aesthetic is modernist, or the sort of combination of the ancient and modern that the Italians are good at. I have lived on three continents at various times in my life, including New York, Montreal, Melbourne, and the Netherlands, and have visited Italy many times.
