About her
I’m a compassionate, warm and (I hope?) interesting person with a keen sense of humour - it’s important to me to be able to laugh (both at myself and the ironies in life, though always with others rather than at them! Except if it’s on TV: things like Fawlty Towers, or Black Books can still make me laugh even if I’ve watched them so often I know them almost by heart!)
I’m supportive and loyal when it comes to friends and family, but I’ve never felt a strong urge to have children of my own.
I’ve dedicated most of the last decade to retraining in a new career (as a mental health nurse) but recently I’ve found myself wondering if I’m missing out by not having someone to share and explore life with.
In my spare time I enjoy watching TV shows such as Better Call Saul, The Sopranos, The Americans, detective dramas (the psychological kind - Wallander, Morse etc), Twin Peaks, Transparent, etc - as well as slightly arty or socio-cultural documentaries, some films, and (not ashamed to say it) - First Dates.
I also (pre-Covid!) loved to watch plays and contemporary dance, have coffees in overpriced yet atmospheric cafes, and go to art galleries (especially ones with atmospheric cafes and free toilets!)
Reading, music (mostly classical), and exploring new places with my phone camera at the ready are other ways I unwind and relax.
I’d describe myself as a sociable introvert, as well as a slightly cynical optimist, which perhaps sound slightly contradictory - but then I guess we’re all a bit of a mix deep down.
My political views are quite left-wing, and if you voted for Boris or Brexit we’re unlikely to get on...but I’m pretty tolerant other than that. I’m not really an outdoorsy person - but if you are that’s fine: I’ll be inside with a fragrant cup of coffee and a warm welcome.
