It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, will probably be having a look round a few dating sites....
On top of that, I realise that what I want most is to have someone else to think about other than just myself; and, as so many people on this site say, all the things I enjoy would be far more enjoyable shared with someone special.
I am somewhat conservative by nature but generally find myself persuaded by more liberal and modern views. I use naughty text-speak when I'm feeling lazy, but get irritated by people who can't spell or use wrong punctuation....
(Seems to me that describing myself on here is akin to having to explain a joke to somebody... sure, it can be done but it's not so funny any more!)
About his ideal match
I would love to meet someone with whom things feel natural and comfortable - someone who just 'gets it'... maybe someone who has had a similarly conventional, rather old-fashioned upbringing, who values the good aspects of that but can also see how ridiculous much of it was.
In a relationship the key things I could never live without are honesty, trust, an open mind and humour. I hope that, when I die, I will feel I have made some positive difference to people's lives and to this planet which is our temporary home.
I find humour in almost everything...but I have a funny feeling that people on this site are keen to know what drives you and what you truly believe in. I'm not a fan of endless e-mailing - although this is partly because I am a slow and very lazy typist, I think it's important to talk by phone and meet up in person asap to get any real sense of what someone else is like.
You are attractive, intelligent, with that special blend of confidence and sensitivity, serious sometimes, funny at others. Sense of humour vital to deal with life's many mysteries and absurdities. It's funny, and I have never really believed in this stuff, but I do seem to click quite often with people who are my own star sign (Gemini)....
Ideally, you will find Alan Partridge as funny as I do!
