About him
I'm a Cambridge University Classics graduate. I love participating in most kinds of sport (particularly enjoy tennis, squash, golf, running) & performing music. Also like travel (lived abroad - N. Greece, Moscow, Toulouse, S. France - for 7 years), theatre, cinema, reading (anything I can get my hands on, be it Dostoyevsky in Russian, Private Eye or whatever), art galleries, museums, Radios 3, 4 & 5 and, of course, listening to live music! - jazz etc. as well as classical. The personal qualities I value most in others (& which I try hardest to exhibit myself) are honesty, sincerity, dependability and loyalty. I dislike narrow-mindedness and excesses of superficiality & mindless gossip, but generally don't have any strongly-fixed preconceptions about the desirable characteristics of the people I meet, as long as there's at least a reasonable degree of compatibility, mutual understanding & interest - basically, while I'm a long way from being the opposite of Little Britain's Mr Man on the dating front, I'm nowhere near as specific as him either! Friends would, I think (and hope!), say that I'm easy-going (with a dry sense of humour), sociable (although sometimes I like solitude), kind and generous (in different ways), a bit of a Luddite & someone who enjoys hearing/learning about the enthusiasms & points of view of others (whether shared or not!).
