Anyway, I live a quiet life in the countryside, I'm an architecture buff, I'm interested in art, politics and what's going on in the world . I like gardening, buying paintings, taking photographs, ambling about in the countryside. I have a cat who adopted me.. I read history at Oxford then had a career in management in the then publicly-owned bus industry, latterly setting up my own company. Nowadays I keep myself busy and pay the bills in what I'm afraid people might describe as a semi-retired way.

must be desperate? The site doesn't think that's enough! so..... everybody brings something different to the table, I don't really approve of being too prescriptive....I seem to get on well with women who are tall and clever, but that's not a requirement. I seem to get on well with women with red hair- must be something chemical there. I haven't found out yet if the site sorts us by politics, but I'm a very loyal Corbyn supporter and will have problems with anyone hostile.
One comment, I believe there's a view out there that everyone has to make sure their profile comes over as confident and bubbly- I think that's entirely misconceived, I think it's derived, like a lot of this dating stuff, from the USA, but we're different here, and I don't personally particularly go for that, I think people should be themselves; quiet people are fine by me and I'm sure plenty of other people would think that too .
