I am happy, warm, interesting and interested in most things except sport but especially books, the visual Arts and theatre, ideas, food, design, music, nature - I love walking in the fresh air of the coast, country and mountains. I enjoy exploring though I’m probably past my dreams of walking in the Himalayas or backpacking through the wild forests of Eastern Europe.
I'm definitely left leaning but I make up my own mind about issues and don't readily fall into predetermined categories. I am very independent but also a kind and sympathetic ear, a good conversationalist with a keen sense of fun and the ridiculous and an eye for beauty in the million forms it takes. I am sociable and friendly and value honesty, integrity and fairness. I believe in equality in all aspects of life but that doesn’t mean I want everyone to be the same. Variety is what makes the world interesting and I would like to see more of it.

I would like to meet an intelligent, thinking, feeling man with interests which matched my own and who also has a still unsatisfied wanderlust. I have done quite a bit of travelling already, either solo or with female friends but most of those are now tied up with grandchildren. Besides, I like male company for friendship. I’m not looking for a quick hook up, just a compatible travel companion for explorations and adventures. I’m not into cruises or beach holidays though I wouldn’t rule out the occasional lazy day on the sand or the sea. Or the countryside, hills, mountains, cities, villages or jungles for that matter.
