About her
I'm a happy romantic and eternal optimist. I am interested in most things except sport but especially books, the visual Arts and theatre, ideas, food, design, music, nature - I love walking in the fresh air of the coast, country and mountains. I enjoy exploring though I’m probably past my dreams of walking in the Himalayas or backpacking through the wild forests of Eastern Europe. Though I’m happy with my own company, nothing can beat sharing with a compatible companion. The glance that says without words that you both appreciate the same view and are happy to see it together, discussing anything and everything, singing, well or badly, the same old songs, sharing a meal that’s been cooked together or a joke that has you both creased up with laughter, reading in companionable silence or occasionally sharing a passage, listening to a loved person’s breathing as they sleep and lots more. You know what I mean.
I'm definitely left leaning but I make up my own mind about issues and don't readily fall into predetermined categories. I am very independent but also warm, interesting and interested, a kind and sympathetic ear but a good conversationalist with a keen sense of fun and the ridiculous and an eye for beauty in the million forms it takes. I am sociable and friendly and value honesty, integrity and fairness. I believe in equality in all aspects of life but that doesn’t mean I want everyone to be the same. Variety is what makes the world interesting. I like male company and, like everyone on here, I miss having someone who looks at me with love.
At this late stage I am unlikely to find you living around the corner so I am prepared to travel to meet you if it seems we may like each other after a few emails or phone calls.
About her ideal match
I'd like to meet an intelligent, thinking, caring, feeling man whose values and interests were similar to mine, especially a love of literature, contemporary art and the natural world. An honest and trustworthy man with a generous heart, open mind and sympathy with green or leftish ideals would certainly help. Someone tactile, who has lived fully and who hasn't given up yet, who would enjoy discussing everything, having fun or adventures but who would also be happy just being quiet together. I wouldn’t get on well with someone controlling or conservative, nor someone very shy or passive, ultra sensitive or ruled by materialism.
Ideally I would like to find someone who would make my heart sing, who I could love unreservedly and who would love me in return.
Well, that was the ideal. I’m a little more realistic now and no longer searching for that kind of partner. I’m looking for someone compatible who might have some of the qualities above but who doesn’t want an all consuming relationship. Someone to visit galleries, theatres, cinemas etc and to go on travels, holidays and adventures with. If that suits you, too, drop me a line.
