In Her Own Words
About her
I was reflecting on an amazing visit to the west coast of Greenland, - the strange and powerful joy of walking paths unfrequented by the madding crowds! Somewhat inconveniently, I fell in love with icebergs. And, unaccustomed as I was, I relished the wonderful services and comforts on the strange hybrid (technically and culture-wise) expedition ship. Who says life stops giving you surprises just because you’ve inhabited the planet for a few decades?
With that unusual vantage point in mind, I am looking ahead to see what comes into view.
Just pre-Covid, I had the temerity to move back to London, just when others were retiring to the country. Everything restored, I revel in its cultural delights and walks on Hampstead Heath and around Fitzrovia as well as further afield in wilder places. Brought up half in London and half in the Lake District, I have a deep love of both and visit the Lakes often.
I love to travel but when in London, my second home is the Wigmore Hall and I've come to love the annual Islington Festival of Music & Art run by friends of mine. A non-musician, I am a passionate listener. And of art - I did finally make that trip to Margate (that had been foiled a couple of times) for a bit of art and fish and chips. Tate, RA and London Contemporary are no strangers..
Sharing would be the icing …..
I have a zest for life despite the challenges of our political predicaments (and enough personal if not learned history to connect with the catastrophe of soaring inequality). With your variety of zest, I’d love to find you to share some of the things we each find wonderful. You never know, we might even find a modicum of rapture! And a moment to laugh at the ridiculous together.
About her ideal match
A lover of arts and travel and ideas. Of cities and wild landscapes. Of trees and opera. Of old France perhaps and a seriously good crème brûlée. A man who is curious about people, personally and politically. A man who relishes the ridiculous. A man seeking a warm deepening relationship of equals.
