About her
I am rewriting this from the west coast of Greenland, a trip organised way back in Covid-deep days and now an extraordinary reality - the strange and powerful joy of walking paths unfrequented by the madding crowds! Somewhat inconveniently, I’ve fallen in love with icebergs. And, unaccustomed as I am, I am relishing the wonderful services and comforts on this strange hybrid (technically and culture-wise) expedition ship. Who says life stops giving you surprises just because you’ve inhabited the planet for a few decades?
So from an unusual vantage point, here’s looking ahead to more new life.
Pre-Covid, I had the temerity to move back to London, just when others are retiring to the country. But luckily in time to taste it’s cultural delights before lockdown. Thankfully both these and getting out to wild places have returned. My second home at the Wigmore is even more relished and soon it will be the Islington Festival of Music & Art again. I might even make that trip to Margate that has been foiled a couple of times. For a bit of art and fish and chips. Sharing would be the icing …..
I have a zest for life despite the challenges of our political predicaments (and enough personal if not learned history to connect with the catastrophe of soaring inequality and all that’s behind it).
