I am friendly , kind, compassionate, have a good sense of humour and am a people person. I have a lot of friends who would say I am reliable , good company, interesting and I hope fun.
I enjoy swimming ( a mile and a half a week ) , having meals with friends, archaeology ( go on digs ) , history, politics & current affairs. ( my degree is in modern history & politics from Exeter )
I love animals (have a little white cat ) , white wine , my garden.
snorkelling, walking and family history. I enjoy going to the cinema
and theatre. I also love to dance - disco only !
I am really interested in science and technology , medicine and IT.

I love reading and was a librarian responsible for buying

I am quite relaxed now that I am retired and involved in lots of local organisations - I have just become a volunteer at Winchester cathedral which is very interesting as you meet tourists from all over the world. I love music of all types especially the 70's, 80's &
90's (sorry I do like Abba and dancing to it ! )
I enjoy classical music although I will admit to not knowing a lot about it. . Not so keen on country music.
I have always loved exercise and have especially enjoyed Pilates over the last couple of years. I also love the coast and sea.

I would like someone who is kind, thoughtful, has) a generous nature, genuine , a gentleman who makes me laugh - very important in life.
Obviously he needs to be intelligent and also interesting - I always like to learn and meeting someone who is from a different background is always fascinating.
I think compromise and talking are very important when it comes to making a relationship work - plus chemistry , that indefinable something , which you never know until you find it.. Also someone you just want to keep talking to and miss when he is not there.
Someone who smoked would be a deal breaker as I'm sorry I couldn't live with that .
