About her
I think my friends would describe me as intelligent and outgoing although I've also heard opinionated used.
I'm a civil servant (not quite a mandarin yet, but maybe in time) and find my job interesting and challenging. My current post involves quite a bit of travel which is interesting and has most recently taken me to Poland, Ukraine, France and Germany. I enjoy foreign travel a lot, as long as it involves staying in a comfortable hotel (I'm more a Glyndebourne than a Glastonbury type). I enjoy city breaks and country hotels.
I have a wide range of interests and enjoy learning and trying new things. I am a keen social dancer who enjoys dancing tango regularly as well as dabbling in other dance forms like flamenco and street dance. My job is fairly cerebral so dancing is a good escape from that.
I enjoy the finer things in life, good food, fine wine and intelligent conversation. I love classical music and enjoy going to concerts, operas and other things like the Proms. I also enjoy watching dance performances to see what I can learn. The most recent thing I went to was a lovely string quartet performing works by Debussy and Schubert.
I also enjoy learning and am currently trying to learn Polish (if the college will stop cancelling my classes). I also enjoy practising my existing languages (French and German).
I'd say my outlook is fairly positive. I think life is short so one should enjoy oneself as much as possible.
About her ideal match
I'm looking for someone intelligent and with varied tastes. I would like someone who reads widely and can hold an intelligent conversation. I like foreign travel and would like someone who would like to share my journeys.
I don't expect someone who likes exactly the same things as I do although dancing, or the willingness to learn would be a strong plus for me.
I am fairly relaxed and easygoing but have a reasonable need for personal space. I like my own company quite well but it would be nice to have someone to share things with and the potential for a long term relationship.
I'd say the main deal breakers are smoking (which I detest) and dishonesty and narrowmindedness. I am not religious and tend to be fairly sceptical of these things. On the other hand I do require honesty and integrity.
