Polite, kind, well-mannered, positive, sociable, open-minded.
Not particularly good-looking; but passable under candlelight. Friends all say I look much older than my age.
Fortunate to have had a good education; but sadly failed chemistry, the condition 'sine qua non' on the site. In spite of the handicap still have a personality.
Grew up and educated in west Scotland ; moved to live and work in cities around the UK and Europe, incl. spell of involuntary detention in former East Berlin (GDR).
My faith as Christian is important, but without the bells and whistles. I'm been long time divorced, single, no hidden ties, happily independent. Photos within last 2/4 years, except last fun picture 2016.
I’m slim, quite fit , enjoy being outdoors, walking, coasts, hills forests, Would have included mountains but afraid a recent fall damaged the spine, which affects my stride slightly, but still mobile and active. Waiting for further neuro surgery.
Interested in travel, culture, British and 20C European history, Art and portraiture, Etymology, reading. Social activities include evenings out, eating in small restaurants, seeing good movies, theatre, book festivals, exhibitions, concerts; the Highland Games?

I also enjoy driving, road trips without a fixed timetable, to interesting parts of the UK, ferry-hopping the Isles of Scotland and trips to different parts of Europe.
Or just conversation, coffee, and carrot cake al fresco at a cafe nearby in the meantime.
