I'm an independent, lively and cheerful person! I'm a good friend to a number of people, thoughtful and sensitive. I have circles of friends I keep up with. I like to spend time with friends; I'm interested in them and a good listener. I'm good company, laugh a lot and am kind and generous. I like all the Arts, especially literature, music, theatre, cinema and art, and also history. I'm hospitable, I like to cook but also eat out. I don't have much interest in sport, politics or science and don't watch much TV beyond the BBC, preferring music, the radio and reading. I love my dog and enjoy walking him. I tend my garden; these activities are how I relax. I am a committed Catholic Christian and a positive attitude; the pursuit of peace, equality and justice; and respectful care for all people make up my outlook on life.

I am looking for someone cultured with similar interests but also slightly different ones. I'd like him to have plenty of his own other interests and activities too so we'd have a lot to talk about that's different as well as shared ones. I'd like someone who has/had a busy and fulfilling professional life like I had. I would like a lot of conversation! Someone with a zest for life, showing mutual respect, mutual appreciation, being truthful and trustworthy with a sense of humour, the ability to see the lighter side of life and seeking togetherness; these would make a relationship with me work. I'd like to enjoy the arts together and discuss them; to cook and entertain together; to play games like canasta, backgammon and scrabble, I'd like to dog walk and travel in the UK so my dog comes too! He would have to be a dog lover. Another dog would be great! He would need to accept my commitment to my friends, better still join in too! While not expecting anyone to have exactly the religious convictions I have, I would need these to be genuinely respected.
