In His Own Words

About him

Well this is harder than I thought.

I'm content to live in a tiny stone cottage up a hill in a little Somerset village with my Terrier. I spend most of my days doing the scuIpture and drawing I always wanted to do and I regularly exhibit in Bath & Frome.

I'm also a gallery guide at an art museum in Bath on Monday afternoons, I love having conversations with complete strangers ('we learn we are each other's blanks'). Having said that, I also love solitude to create and quite happy just playing with a lump of clay listening to music (my last downloads were Massive Attack then the whole 2+ hours of Britten's Gloriana).

Conventionally well (state) educated I was offered a place at art school but instead was persuaded to go to university to read Philosophy; predicted to get a first or a third... you can guess what happened.
Well spoken and presentable - (I had a very 'establishment' background which is great for confusing assumptions) a family legend says that my ancestors were cake making bandits in the Somerset levels in King Alfred's time (987), they gave him shelter and left him watching the cakes, he fell asleep and let the cakes burn so they boxed his ears. I love one pot cooking but no good at making cakes.

I've had a disability for only the last 40 years or so - seems normal to me, I've recently started using a wheelchair most of the time to keep doing 'stuff' (so I don't view it as a retrograde step). I can drive and keep myself in shape with a bit of exercise every morning. I find it puts things in perspective in these strange times, but I like the kindly, fighty but empathetic, resourceful, optimistic person it's made me into; so I wouldn't change it.

About his ideal match

Oh I don't know, so don't take this to seriously ok?
Above all, robustness is good, you'll have had a good education, or were looking out of the window during one.
An ability to remember poetry at breakfast is admirable.
It would be good if you were kindly, creative rather than a consumer, and intelligent obviously.
A good wardrobe too, I like Old Town and Toast - quality stuff.

Does it go without saying, no Daily Mail or Telegraph readers, Trump supporters or climate change deniers?
