About him
Let's imagine, just for a moment, that you're looking for a committed relationship with someone who is rather out of the ordinary. Let's say (purely for the sake of argument, you understand) someone who is intelligent, articulate, empathetic, kind, a good listener, engaging good company - just to pull a few ostensibly random qualities out of the air. Well, now that you mention it (or perhaps I did?), that does sound a little familiar.
I'm emotionally and materially secure, and free of significant ties. I'm a keen traveller (70 countries and counting), and I enjoy walking, reading, bridge, chess, theatre, cinema and current affairs. I'm a reasonable cook, and I make simply the best Margaritas (which, unlike my cooking, come with a health warning).
I'm retired, with an eclectic professional background in asset management, urban regeneration, strategic planning, and personal development. Outside the day jobs I've managed a holistic holiday centre on a Greek island, helped present emotional intelligence seminars in Siberia and Bulgaria, and been a trainer for new Samaritan volunteers.
If this seems an odd combination, it's because I've been immersed for thirty years in emotional intelligence work as an organiser, trainer and participant. This influences me every single day. I’m also a social and political liberal, and I believe that a similar philosophical outlook is valuable in a relationship.
That all said, I'm mostly very light-hearted, always searching out the funny side of life, and I don't take myself too seriously. No pretence, no bull, no bling; self-assured but never arrogant or flashy.
My photos are all 2025-26, except the ones with critters. The Komodo Dragon, BTW, was alive and well, if possibly overfed and therefore sluggish. Apparently it's bad for business if they eat the visitors.
