About him
I hope that people would describe me mainly positively, as smart, curious, patient, kind, empathic etc. No harm in hoping! However, they might also say, slightly assertive, and a bit crazy.
I entertain my family and friends and charmed by children, often misbehaving even worse than them. Observing people and animals is a favourite pastime, as wells as supporting all animal life. I've travelled far (N, C and S America, Asia and Europe), away from tourists where possible, and will do much more in future. Cuba is outstanding, because of the people's fortitude, courage and dignity, and they all dance and do this in the street every day!
I tend to read 'classics by codgers' for fiction (posh stuff like Tolstoy or Zola). For the smart stuff I read science, neuro-science, about 'world affairs' such as equality, the environment etc (yes, I am one of those!). Slightly less austere, is the wacko stuff such as the cartoonists Gary Larson and John Callahan (please read them!).
Music is in my heart and soul, from classical, opera, country music to blues, jazz, flamenco...but any music really. I even play a bit of guitar: unfortunately, it was once said of my guitar playing, 'Couldn't we buy him a tambourine.....a silent one.....and soon?!
I hope my recent time making guitars in La Herradura southern Spain, will prove the great change in experience I seek from a previous life leading teams of psychologists in addressing team working, organisational change, learning, research etc). These days, I am also more focussed on brains, neuro-science and related matters.
So come and visit La Herradura and do some chiselling, sanding, carving and gluing to create something looking and sounding beautiful! And play the most beautiful guitar in the world.
I almost forgot, as Karate is long since a thing of the past for me, I now exercise frequently in a gym. My photos were all taken in the last 3 months except the one with Kostas my Greek friend.
