More introvert than extrovert; I enjoy social events, but need to balance these with quieter activities. I love the outdoors, and activities like kayaking and walking, but generally enjoy these in a mindful way rather than in pursuit of particular goals.
Retired from the world of science, and with two daughters now living independentIy, I am enjoying having time to pursue interests and explore new opportunities.
Both visual and creative, I enjoy art, architecture and like to experiment with photography as well as various arts and crafts. I am currently studying art history which I am finding extremely captivating.
I am reasonably well-travelled, and have spent extended periods in Australia, California as well as three years living and working in Paris. For me, an ideal holiday would include exploring both the cultural the natural aspects of a destination; a mixture of the wild and the urban. I do like to maximise my time when travelling, so you might find it difficult to persuade me sit quietly by the pool.
Interests include photography, galleries, museums, historic houses, history and ancient history, gardening, reading, games, any type of treasure hunting activities. I have an eclectic taste in music and keep fit with walking and lots of dancing: Argentine tango, salsa, west coast swing, modern jive, blues, some ballroom.
I would love to find a compatible soul to share love and laughter, and with whom to weather the tougher times.
