I like walking, TV dramas, figuring things out at work, having a laugh with friends, learning things, making a fuss of other people's cats and dogs, rain (makes the air feel different), gardens.
I'm not particularly interested in sport, food, making my home perfect.
I'm conscientious, analytical, public spirited, reasonably physically active, a loyal friend. I'm also tremendously indecisive, somewhat neurotic and guilt-ridden and completely useless at DIY.
My head most definitely rules my heart, but I'd argue that a lack of empathy doesn't prevent me from seeing that the good things of life should be shared more fairly, and that it's our responsibility to see that they are.
I think some people are kinder and more unselfish than others, but I don't think you can divide people into "good" and "evil": real life isn't Lord of the Rings. I don't think people have to be perfect to be worthy of admiration.

I've realised while completing this profile that I've no idea what I'm looking for or why. I never actually feel lonely, even during lockdown; there's always work, friends and Netflix.
I think what I miss is someone who gets me.
I guess I'd want someone who counts their blessings and has a sense of social responsibility. It would help if they were reasonably physically active (er, no, that isn't a euphemism; I like walking!!), .
I want someone who is independent and doesn't want to do everything as a couple; I don't want a Labrador puppy (although they are cute).
I appreciate that a substantial part of our life is behind us and I think we should cherish our memories, even if things didn't work out in the end ("it's just the way it changes, like the shoreline and the sea"), so feel free to keep that wedding photo from the 80s on your mantelpiece.
