Hello, my name is Kim and I am a positive, confident person who appreciates life and the amazing things it has to offer. I know myself well and I'm pretty comfortable in my own skin generally.
I was born in London, brought up in Kent, and in adulthood spent 17 years in Southern Africa. I now live in the wilds of North Yorkshire.
I get energised around people, but I also like some alone time.
I value and nurture my close relationships and put effort into maintaining them.
I have a bit of a reputation for enjoying 'good' B grade horror/sci-fi films... sorry.
I'm learning Japanese as a hobby (that tells you I'm also a masochist).
I think of myself as an optimistic realist.
I'm not great at thinking in black and white terms, but I do know sometimes it's necessary. Life can be nuanced and complex.
When I get the chance, I like to scuba dive and snorkel. I even climbed Ben Nevis once... ugh... (again, it's that masochistic streak).

Visual art interests me, and I get impressed by human creativity in many forms.
My postgrad qualifications are in theatre practice (writing, directing and performance). But life isn't a dress rehearsal and I cherish and appreciate it.
I'm not into extreme sports... they scare the hell out of me.

I would love to find someone who knows himself well and can engage with me on different levels. Sure, a deep and meaningful discussion can be a great turn-on, but so can being playful.
Physical attraction is important of course, but being kind, funny, thoughtful and open-minded are attractive, too.
It would be great to find someone with the ability to do things with me: days out, lazy lunches, travel, all those lovely things and more (sounds a bit obvious, doesn't it!)
