About him
My story so far, at university I studied physics, which I loved, but it was extremely demanding on my time and there was certainly never any time for dating. Then following a very difficult period, I now work in IT for a local charity, I find this enjoyable and rewarding, but unfortunately the only single ladies I meet through my job are elderly widows!
My loyal friends and family have described me as full of hidden talents, respectful, loyal, polite, very practical, determined, positive, thoughtful, tolerant, handsome, kind and sensitive and they really can't understand why I did not find myself a nice lady friend years ago; but they are hardly impartial observers!
I have an interest in fashion, but I am certainly not a slave to it. I mainly prefer the quieter pursuits in life, but don’t expect someone who sits around all day on the sofa doing nothing. I am happiest in the countryside, and never feel quite at home in large towns and cities, so I am probably not a good match if you live in the big city and would never move away. I am a quiet person, who is an excellent listener, but I am confident in myself and is perfectly capable of holding interesting, deep and meaningful conversations. I am not a very competitive person and I am pretty terrible at competitive sports, but would take an interest and be supportive for the right lady if she had a sporting interest. I enjoy being physically active, swimming and walking in the countryside. I am passionate about nature and the countryside; I volunteer with various wildlife organisations, surveying and helping with practical conservation. Due to a minor eyesight issue (completely undetectable from my appearance) I am not able to do everything I would like to, so I would prefer someone who, like me has a fairly quiet pace of life or is happy to do some things separately; it is fine if you are busy with your career, as long as you have time to spend with me. Other interests include: videography, photography, wildlife art, looking after my cats and art.

The leading lady I am searching for is: feminine, unselfish, warm, homely, intelligent, honest, kind, sensible, deep, sensitive, gentle, patient, practical, loyal, introvert and shares similar values to me; good morals are a requirement. I am very much looking for more than a purely romantic attraction, whilst this is important, I would very much like to find something deeper. I am looking for someone who shares some of my interests or enjoys similar ones. I would be a good match for a lady with an academic or scientific background, maybe a doctor, vet or teacher, but I am open minded about this. I am looking for someone who is easy going and calm, but can be strong and determined when required, but understands that life and relationships especially are all about compromise. Family are important to me and I am looking for a lady who shares these values, someone with a gentle sense of humour, who laughs with people not at them; but also knows how to be serious when required, if you think that life is one big joke, have a very off-beat sense of humour or lack common sense then you are probably not a good match for me! She must allow me to keep a cat. I don’t mind if you are a bit messy, I can tidy up after you, or not as your prefer. I don’t mind if you own a large collection of shoes, handbags, clothes or anything else. I am probably not compatible with anyone who enjoys a great deal of foreign travel or sunbathing on a beach, as these are really not my cup-of-tea, there are so many amazing sights to see in Britain, even when it rains! I am looking for someone who is serious about a romantic relationship, but is happy to proceed very slowly and lives within relatively easy travelling distance or is happy to travel to me.
