About her
I'm nice! I'm kind, decent and funny. Honest, empathetic, fun, solvent, clever, intellectually curious, practical, mentally stable, very seldom stressed, I can scrub up, dress down, be serious or very silly.
Spontaneous by nature, I am always up for trying something new. I enjoy live music (from Glastonbury to Glyndebourne), anything to do with boats or the sea, dogs, art exhibitions, science lectures, most things considered cultural, walking, wild swimming, socialising with friends, cycling, playing tennis, attempting cryptic crosswords, reading, the big outdoors or just pottering at home.
I work in a professional capacity in a rewarding job which I still enjoy but hope to ease off in the not too distant future. Family is important to me - I have 3 grown up children who descend on me occasionally when not working abroad. I live in the countryside but am up in London a fair bit particularly in the winter.
I like holidays to far flung lands exploring interesting places with cultures and landscapes different to mine, UK walking or European city breaks and am as happy staying in a hostel or a tent as I am in a 5*. Sailing holidays also float my boat (sorry!) and I can skipper if required.
I've been on my own for years after a long marriage and it’s taken me a while to dip my toe into this scary world of online dating. I'm happy in my own company and pretty sociable, so it will probably come as a surprise to my friends that I’m often lonely, especially at weekends.
On a serious note, I respect integrity, treating other people well and the underrated qualities of kindness and compassion. I hope that you will find all of these in me.
Although in the long term, I am looking for a forever love, companion, lover and soulmate, if along the journey I make an extra friend or someone to meet up and do things with at weekends, that can't be a bad thing.
